Great Gatsby event at Lindon House Feb 4th
Crissy Cuddihy
I am blessed to have wonderful friends and a loving family in this circle of life. I am dedicating this event to all of my friends and family who have experienced the help of the Hospice Association in their times of need.
My father-in-law was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago and the Hospice Association was not only there for him but was there for all of us. This gave us all great relief and confidence that he was in good care during this very difficult time.
My daughter’s best friend lost her mother to cancer 2 years ago also and what a wonderful place the Central Okanagan Hospice House was for her family and 4 children to visit. I visited her one day and it pulled at my heart strings as we were so close in age. I thought to myself what would I do in this situation? I would want nothing more then to be cared for in a beautiful place like this. It would take the worry away from my family.
I feel the need to give back to this very special organization as they in turn give so much to all of our families within our community.
I dedicate this evening to the loved ones I have lost, they will be in my memory forever and until we meet again.

I have been touched personally by Hospice House Kelowna. We are so blessed in this community have such a wonderful facility. When you are experiencing the terminal illness of a loved one, it is calming and peaceful to know their last days are in a home that is a comforting as their own personal residence.
I am honored to be on this team in order to raise funds for this facility.

Supporting an association that has in turn supported so many of those in our community is an honour. The volunteers through our local Hospice Association have provided unbelievable care and support to our friends, family members and neighbours, and I am proud to help sustain such a valuable, necessary and genuinely appreciated service.

The Hospice Society is a program that until you or your family is faced with those final days, you don't think about it. They also ensure, that during those days, you don't have to worry about it. Being able to support a friend while she gets out there and shakes her stuff, while also helping those individuals and families that need the Hospice Society's comfort and compassion is a pleasure and an honour.

I have been a part of this wonderful campaign for two years now and I am honoured. I was on the committee last year for dancer Lorraine McGrath and this year for Chrissy. The appreciation I have for this organization and what it provides for the community is astounding. I have had two friends pass away early at the age of 35 from cancer and the support and care they provided them was beyond belief but not only for them. The ones left behind... words cannot express gratitude enough. The support guidance and understanding that was given in such a hard time in their lives is none other than remarkable.
I dedicated my time to the families of the friends I have lost....
